People in Centre undertook a review of the Earthquake Risk Reduction and Recovery Preparedness (ERRRP) project in Bhutan and Nepal. The programme was implemented by the respective country offices of UNDP, facilitated by the Bureau of Crisis Prevention and Recovery – UNDP and UNOPS. Funded by the Government of Japan, this almost three-year project aimed at building the capacities of national and local governments to ensure earthquake-safe construction through the implementation of appropriate codes and guidelines, training of human resources and technology demonstrations.
