National Guidelines on Temporary Shelters for Disaster Affected Families

With a mandate from NDMA, People in Centre prepared the ‘National Guidelines on Interim Shelters for Disaster Affected Families’. The temporary shelter phase is a critical stage in reconstruction and rehabilitation: it not only fulfils urgent emergency needs but also lays the foundation for an effective long-term housing recovery. Released on September 27, 2019 by Dr. P. K. Mishra on NDMA Foundation Day, the guidelines help state governments and other stakeholders establish an effective, people-centred shelter response after any disaster.
