The vulnerability of existing houses is one of the most serious life-threatening risks during natural disasters, and planning any risk reduction measure requires knowing the extent of that vulnerability. People in Centre undertook a vulnerability assessment in nine coastal villages of Porbandar district in Gujarat, with support from UNNATI and mandated by GSDMA, innovating further on the methodology developed earlier by IIT-Hyderabad and BMTPC.
