People in Centre was invited to present its study of street vendors on the Ahmedabad Janmarg (BRTS route) at the conference on the National Strategy Meet on Metro Rail Projects, organised by Ghar Bachao, Ghar Banao Andolan in Mumbai. The presentation discussed the presence of street vendors on existing streets, how the implementation of BRTS affected their livelihood prospects, and the lack of planning for such marketplaces along the BRTS route and in similar development projects.
