Due to the implementation of BRTS, local buses were rerouted through the Mansi marketplace and around 100 vegetable vendors were asked to evacuate. SEWA asked People in Centre to evaluate the traffic and vending situation. A quick consultation and area analysis were carried out to enable the street vendors to negotiate with the authorities to allow them to continue their business while not obstructing the new traffic route. Similar consultations were held with street vendors at the Subhash Chowk and Jivrajpark marketplaces, who were facing problems due to road widening and other projects implemented by the authorities.
