Period2008

As cities expand and new areas come within their limits, new marketplaces develop — and to avoid future congestion, these must be planned and supported as livelihood-generation spaces for the poor, keeping in mind space requirements and necessary infrastructure. People in Centre prepared design proposals for several such marketplaces for SEWA on empty plots allocated for open markets by the AMC. The basic plan for the Kharicut canal plot can be viewed here.
