PMKSY has four components: the Accelerated Irrigation Benefits Program (₹ 11,060 crore), the ‘per drop, more crop’ component (₹ 16,300 crore) to support micro-irrigation, a watershed programme (₹ 13,590 crore), and a new component called Har Khet Ko Pani (₹ 9,050 crore) to construct one water-harvesting structure per village by 2020. The People in Centre team contributed to this policy paper by the IWMI-Tata Programme for an early analysis to understand and improve its socio-economic and livelihood impacts.
