With mandate from NDMA, People in Centre prepared ‘National Guidelines on Interim Shelters for Disaster Affected Families’. Temporary shelter phase is a critical stage in process of reconstruction and rehabilitation that not only fulfills the urgent emergency needs but also helps lay foundation for an effective long-term housing recovery process. The guidelines were released on September 27, 2019 by Dr. P. K. Mishra on NDMA foundation day. These guidelines are useful for the state governments and other stakeholders in establishing an effective people centred shelter response after any disaster. These guidelines can be downloaded from this link.
