Post Earthquake Urban Planning in Bhachau – Issues and Agenda

After earthquake in Bhachau, Kutch in year 2001, new development planning process was initiated under Bhachau Area Development Authority (BhADA). However, it was felt unless critical issues related to the poor are looked into, the whole process might marginalize them. The write up available here explores issues of the poor during reconstruction and develops a perspective in context of Bhachau. This was a working document prepared by myself and Dinesh Prajapati.
