Mangrove restoration in south Gujarat to create a comprehensive model encompassing physical, vegetative and economic aspects, carried out in such a manner that it ensures financial and institutional sustainability of communities.

A study was undertaken by PIC in the villages where the mangrove restoration programme was implemented by SAVE and VIKAS are Nada, Asarsa, Neja and Malpur, in Jambusar Taluka (Bharuch District); Kanthiajal, in Hansot Taluka (Bharuch District); and Dandi, in Olpad Taluka (Surat District). This study informed GIZ on the project practices and the resulting impact.
